Dx-Speed: Innovative system for measuring vehicle wheel speed

Whether passenger car, van, truck or mobile machine: the Dx-Speed system comfortably acquires wheel speeds. The system is simply mounted on the wheel bolts and requires no stator or additional reference point.

Dx-Speed was awarded with the renowned messtec & sensor masters award in the sensor category for its innovative system for wireless wheel speed measurement.

Robust and precise

Thanks to its robust design, the Dx-Speed system delivers precise measurement results even in harsh environmental conditions such as mud, snow and dust. Impacts against the axle also will not affect the results. This means that even driving over sleepers is possible. The accuracy is typically better than 0.5%.

Aquaplaning tests without angle encoder

At last there is a system for the precise measurement of aquaplaning without a stator rod or troublesome wiring – the Dx-Speed. Compact in its mechanical design, it captures every change in the wheel speed and thus exactly the moment at which aquaplaning occurs. This makes the tests simple, and at the same time very accurate. Up to four wheels (Dx-Speed sensors) can be simultaneously measured in sync with a Dx-Speed receiver, cable-free and on all wheel types.

Easy to work with

Installation on the vehicle is extremely simple: the Dx-Speed sensor is mounted directly on the vehicle's wheel bolts using collets via the optional mounting plate. Because of the technology used, set-up times are short – the system is assembled and ready to measure in just a few minutes.

Thanks to telemetric data transmission, there are no annoying cable connections and the reliability of the measurement is increased.

Storage and transport is also much easier than with conventional solutions, since the compact mechanical design of the Dx-Speed system requires little space and no bulky stator rod has to be accommodated.

One receiver for up to four wheels

The Dx-Speed sensor transmits its acquired wheel speeds via a mirror antenna directly to the Dx receiver inside the vehicle. A receiver can synchronously acquire data from up to four wheels (Dx-Speed sensors). The data appear in real time in the system and can be made available via CAN or analog output to higher-level systems – such as a data logger.
