Noise Measurement of Rail-Bound Vehicles - Emitted and Inside Noise

What to expect
More and more traffic is to be shifted to the railway. Noise emissions from trains have a significant impact on the environment and the quality of life of local neighbours. Vehicle interior noise is also an important aspect of noise, as it is the basis for improving passenger comfort.
Our imc WAVE acoustic software solution acquires and records noise emissions in accordance with ISO 3095 and measuring inside railbound vehicle noise in accordance with ISO 3381. This software works together with the universal imc Data Acquisition Systems, which record hundreds of measurement channels decentrally, analogue, Wireless (telemetry) and via the vehicle's digital bus systems. The software in combination with the robust measurement hardware provides real-time results and supports the user in creating analyses and reports.
Learn more about testing on rail-bound vehicles:
Testing and Measurement is used for safety and reliability as well as performance and durability verification.
There is a whole range of challenges to solve:
Measuring temperatures, forces, torques and vibrations in a decentralized, distributed and synchronous manner. Measurement solutions include wireless (telemetry) and wired sensors.
Brakes are important safety elements in vehicles to reduce speed and stop the vehicle. This is usually done by converting the kinetic energy supplied into thermal energy. It is therefore necessary to check the function of the brakes as a braking distance measurement, often also in conjunction to the brake disk temperature.
In order to ensure safe and reliable operation of the bogies, regular maintenance is required and, in particular, testing on test benches with electric drives.
Tests to verify safety against derailment, weighing and twisting test bench
Measurement of noise emission (EN ISO 3095) and inside-noise measurement in track-bound vehicles according to EN ISO 3381
