The Advantages for Distributed Data Acquisition

What to expect
In this session, we will introduce the key features of modular DAQ systems and how they enable distributed test and measurement in electromechanical applications. We will discuss the hardware concept at the core of distributed data acquisition, and compare key requirements and implementation strategies.
Special attention will be given to the role of the PC, as well as the advantages of modular designs and spatially distributed topologies. Use cases will highlight the benefits of flexible data acquisition hardware and demonstrate its long-term value and sustainability.
Agenda
- What is a modular, distributable DAQ system?
- What services does it provide?
- What are the functions and significance of its components?
- Which major approaches for realization can be distinguished?
- What role does the PC play within these concepts?
- The system bus as a crucial component
- Flexibility has many aspects – use cases of distributed test installations
