In this session, we will introduce the key features of modular DAQ systems and how they enable distributed test and measurement in electromechanical applications. We will discuss the hardware concept at the core of distributed data acquisition, and compare key requirements and implementation strategies. 
Special attention will be given to the role of the PC, as well as the advantages of modular designs and spatially distributed topologies. Use cases will highlight the benefits of flexible data acquisition hardware and demonstrate its long-term value and sustainability.
