With a new office in the western Chinese city of Chongqing, imc is expanding their activities in the Asian test and measurement market. In addition to already well-established locations in Beijing and Shanghai, Chongqing is another driver of growth for imcAccess in China. “West China has developed into a center of the automotive industry and Chongqing is one of the largest manufacturing hubs in this sector. With our new office, we want to intensify our customer focus in western China – our innovative test and measurement solutions for vehicle testing and test benches can now be complemented with on-site service and training possibilities”, said David Wang, Managing Director of imcAccess in China.

Chongqing: the growth engine
Chongqing, located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, is as big as Austria, but with four times the population: about 32 million people. In 2015, the Chongqing area had a GDP growth of 11%. There are also a number of universities and study programs with relevance to the automotive industry in this megacity, such as “vehicle engineering and design”, “machinery design”, “traffic engineering”, etc. The leading universities are Chongqing University, the Chongqing University of Technology, the Southwest University and Chongqing Jiaotong University. Locating the new imc office on the campus of Chongqing University was a strategic decision – everywhere research and development takes place, innovative test and measurement solutions are required.
