More than 100 experts will present on key advances in vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft and technologies. The conference, hosted by the Vertical Flight Society, will provide an opportunity to learn about the latest advances and remaining challenges in eVTOL. The conference program includes numerous points on the development of aircraft, safety aspects, aeromechanics and aerodynamics, current propulsion technologies, such as electric rotors powered by batteries or fuel cells, but also on specific types of aircraft, such as eVTOLs and their use in the private or military sector.
Support of FTI and flight testing with universal DAQ applications
For several years now, imc Test & Measurement has been supporting the aviation industry with sensors, DAQ systems, and telemetry measurement solutions in the development of prototypes and components.
Flight test instrumentation (FTI) is at the heart of the collection of measurement data and parameters required for certification by aviation authorities. Various technologies and tools are used to collect, decode and interpret data during flight testing. Ground tests are of fundamental importance. They are used to evaluate components in a controlled environment - while structural tests ensure strength. Flight testing, which follows the simulation and ground phases, confirms capabilities through maneuvers, as real-world conditions reveal nuances and improve flight characteristics.
What TVF visitors can expect to see at the imc stand
imc Test & Measurement offers customized test bench and test system solutions for applications in the development of aircraft and airplanes. These can be used for structural testing of components such as airframes, wings, rotor blades, landing gear, actuators and engines. They can be used for strain and load testing and control, but also for calibration, static tests, fatigue and service life tests. Strain measurements on composite materials and instrumentation for turbine drive tests are also possible.
During the Transformative Vertical Flight Conference, visitors can expect the following test solutions, sensors, and DAQ hardware as exhibits at the imc Test & Measurement stand:
Wireless data acquisition on rotating components
The CTP-NT-Rotate telemetry system enables the acquisition, processing, and transmission of 8, 16, 32, or 64 parallel measurement signals from rotating machinery, test benches, wheels, and rotors. Various configurations of different sensor modules are available incl. signal conditioning for strain gages (STG), thermocouples type K (TH-K), ICP sensors, potentiometer sensors (POT), LVDT / RVDT sensors, and also voltage inputs. Mixed configuration is available (2-CH-steps). The integrated accumulator unit allows easy and quick installation of telemetry. The weatherproof system designed for outdoor use (IP65) enables data transmission over distances of up to 20 meters in free fields.
The new, ultra-flexible imc ARGUSfit DAQ system
The new modular data acquisition system imc ARGUSfit, consists of a base unit and additional amplifier and fieldbus interface modules, which can simply be clicked together. It provides ultimate flexibility in vehicle and machine testing and monitoring. With this modularity, the imc ARGUSfit can be perfectly tailored to fluctuating test environments, and its extremely compact size makes it ideal for applications in confined spaces.
DAQ solutions for electric drives up to 1500V
With its high-voltage measurement modules, high isolation in the kV range, current measurement technology, test stands, mobile data acquisition systems, and data analysis software, imc offers a broad portfolio to meet the challenges of measurement tasks in high-voltage environments. Whether the task is to measure electric motors, batteries, fuel cells, or connectors – - benefit from the DAQ technology solutions from imc.
DAQ solutions for battery tests
When developing new batteries and battery management systems, extensive tests and validations are the order of the day. This includes life cycle testing and misuse tests. These can be used to determine the load limits of battery cells, battery modules, and complete battery packs. Investigations include charging and discharging cycles in climatic chambers as well as crash loads, penetration, compression, bending, and vibration tests. These comprehensive tests can be realized with flexible, automated DAQ technology from imc, that acquires data safely and without disturbance in a high-voltage environment, including data evaluation.
Comprehensive DAQ solutions for flight testing with telemetric data transmission
The test solutions from imc Test & Measurement include flight test instrumentation that complies with the IRIG 106 standard and is characterized by highly accurate and reliable measurement data acquisition. With comprehensive support for sensors and interfaces, imc measurement solutions offer real-time data analysis, monitoring and data compression. Telemetry data can be reconfigured on the fly.
