Lightning and surge protection for wind turbines
Wind turbines are tall installations that are often positioned in such a way that they are exposed to frequent lightning strikes. The aim of the imc lightning protection modules is to minimize the risk of destruction or the possibility of damage to the measuring system by a lightning strike.
ACC/PROTECT-30-DIN-2
ACC/PROTECT-12-DIN-2
The Lightning and surge protection modules for wind turbines are used to protect the measuring inputs of imc measuring amplifiers against lightning strikes, transient surge, electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference.
Different protection and filter elements are used in a multi-stage circuit, which can achieve the most versatile and broadest coverage of fault scenarios.

Noble gas filled gas arresters
Transient Voltage Suppressor Diodes (TVS)
Series resistors and inductors
T-filters made of ferrites and capacitors
The modules are installed in the signal path between sensor and measuring amplifier and are designed for the protection of 2 channels each with differential inputs. They are designed as terminal blocks for DIN rail mounting. Overvoltages are diverted for each of the 4 signal lines to ground potential, which is safely contacted to the DIN rail via a ground contact.
Usable for channel types:
Voltage inputs, current (4 to 20 mA), IEPE/ICP, analog outputs (DAC), counter inputs (ENC) and
digital in- and outputs.
